OFF3: Chart Loses Fill-In Color/Pattern When Printed |
Q100913
In Microsoft Graph, if you create or import a chart in an application
such as Word for the Macintosh version 5.1 and you print the chart to
a Quickdraw printer, the outline of the chart (data marker) may appear,
but the fill-in color and pattern format do not.
These unexpected results occur when you print to Quickdraw printers,
such as the DeskWriter and StyleWriter, and the foreground color is
either of the two shades of gray provided in the color palette.
To work around this problem, choose a foreground color other than gray when you print to a Quickdraw printer.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Graph listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
If the printer has color capabilities (such as the DeskWriter C with a
color print cartridge), the printed results are as expected. If you
print to a PostScript printer, various gray scales are substituted for
the different colors, including the two grays, and the patterns print
as expected.
For more information on changing the color of a data marker, see page
96, Formatting Marker Patterns, in the "Microsoft Graph User's Guide."
