PUB2: Linked Objects Not Updated Before Printing

SYMPTOMS
========

When you print a Publisher document that contains linked objects from
Windows or Windows 95, Publisher may not update all the linked objects
before printing.

When Publisher opens a file, it marks each linked object in the entire
publication as needing an update, and then proceeds to update them
asynchronously. However, in the following two scenarios, some of the
objects will not be updated before printing:

 - If you drag a file icon from File Manager with your mouse and
   drop it in the minimized Print Manager window to print the file

   The document is opened and printed without updating the
   linked objects on disk, which may have changed.

 - If you open the Publisher document and then immediately choose
   Print

   Because Publisher updates its links asynchronously, objects on other
   pages may not be updated before the file prints.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Publisher version 2.0.
This problem was corrected in Publisher version 3.0 for Windows 95.
