PRB: Printer Setup File Could Not Be Found in FoxDoc

The information in this article applies to:

• Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, versions 2.0, 2.5, and 2.5a

SYMPTOMS

While you are using FoxDoc, the error message "The printer setup file could not be found" may be generated when you press F2 while in the Printing Options Screen.

CAUSE

There are two possible reasons for this message:

• FoxDoc cannot find the FoxDoc print options file because it doesn't exist or is corrupted. The FoxDoc print options file is named FXDPRT.FXD. It should be located in the FoxPro program directory.
• The path entered on the System screen for the location of the FoxDoc files is not correct.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, do the following:

1. If the FXDPRT.FXD file is missing or suspected to be corrupt,

   reinstall the FoxDoc files from the installation disks.

   pointing to the directory where FoxDoc is installed. This will
   normally be the same directory where FoxPro is installed. A common
   reason that the path for FoxDoc files is not set to the FoxPro
   directory is because a default directory was set in FoxPro and was
   not changed on the FoxDoc System Screen.
