SUMMARY

Microsoft added support for the Compaq Pagemarq 20 and 15 printers in Word 6.0 for MS-DOS. The new printer driver and initialization file, COMPAQ.PRD and COMPAQ.INI respectively, are supplied on the Supplemental Printer Drivers disks.

This printer driver is intended for use with Word versions 5.5 and 6.0 only. Any use of this printer driver with a version of Word earlier than 5.5 is untested, and Microsoft does not guarantee the results.

Landscape Printing

The COMPAQ PAGEMARQ printer can rotate internal fonts to print portrait fonts in landscape orientation; you do not need a landscape .PRD file to print in landscape orientation. However, you cannot combine portrait and landscape orientation on the same page.

Font Shading

You can access the font shading capabilities of the COMPAQ PAGEMARQ 20 using the Colors setting in the Format Character dialog box. Dark, Medium, Light, and White font shading options are available.

COMPAQ PAGEMARQ Memory

Printing downloadable fonts and graphics can exceed the memory capacity of your printer. When your printer runs out of memory, an error message appears on the printer, and your document may lose text or print incorrectly. To print such documents, use fewer or smaller downloadable fonts or decrease the Graphics Resolution setting in the printer driver so your graphics require less printer memory. You can also purchase additional memory for your PAGEMARQ printer.
