SUMMARY

An updated version of the Windows NT Hewlett-Packard Network Port printer driver, HPMON.DLL, is now available as a hotfix on a number of electronic services.

This hotfix has not been fully regression-tested and may be destabilizing in production environments. Microsoft does not recommend implementing this hotfix without first testing it in a trial environment. Use this hotfix at your own risk.

HPMON.EXE is a self-extracting archive file containing the updated HPMON.DLL drivers for Intel, Alpha and MIPS platforms.

Microsoft's World Wide Web Site on the Internet On the www.microsoft.com home page, click the Support icon. Click Knowledge Base, and select the product. Enter kbfile HPMON.EXE, and click GO! Open the article, and click the button to download the file.

To Apply the Hotfix

Download the file HPMON.EXE.
Copy the file to a directory on your hard drive.
Type the command "HPMON -D" (without the quotation marks) and press ENTER. The -D switch creates directories for the expanded files.
Change to the appropriate directory for your computer (I386, Alpha, or MIPS).
Run the UPDATE.EXE program.
Restart your computer.
