WORKAROUNDS
Workaround 1
Switch the IBM 4029 to Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet Series II
emulation mode, and use the HP LaserJet Series II printer driver in
the Printer Setup dialog box. For more information, query on "ibm
switching emulation modes" in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
Workaround 2
Switch the 4029 to HP emulation mode and use any of the Windows 3.1
drivers for the HP LaserJet series II. (For more information, query on
ibm switching emulation modes in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.)
Then, query on printing reverse video in the Microsoft Knowledge
Base. Use any of the workarounds this query provides.
NOTE: The workarounds provided when you query on "printing reverse
video" do not work if you are using a IBM4029 driver.
Workaround 3
When using IBM4029.DRV version 3.02, 4.01, or 4.21, a printer
heuristic of IBM4029.drv=+2 is necessary to correctly print custom
paper sizes and envelope sizes not internal to the printer driver. For
instructions on how to use this heuristic, query on "changing printer
heuristics" in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
To obtain the latest version of the 4029 driver, call Lexmark (IBM)
Technical Support0. These drivers are also available from the Lexmark
bulletin board service (BBS). The printer driver for Windows 3.0 is named
29W30_PS.EXE; the printer driver for Windows 3.0 and 3.1 is named
29W3X_PP.EXE. A README.DOC file with installation instructions is included
with each driver.
