The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSCentering a text string across a cell range that contains left or right border formats may cause those borders to disappear. When a cell containing a vertical cell border is included within a selection of cells, and that selection is formatted with the Center Across Selection alignment option, the vertical border may disappear.
CAUSEThis situation occurs when text is entered into any cell to the left of the bordered cell within the selection, and when the cell directly to the right of the bordered cell is empty.
STATUSThis is by design.
WORKAROUNDTo prevent this behavior of missing border formats, select the cell to the right of the bordered cell, and reset the alignment for that cell to General.
