SYMPTOMS
During Windows NT startup, a STOP message appears displaying memory
addresses and values. If you wait long enough, the QIC device driver
reports a failure to initialize the device.
CAUSE
The QIC 40 or 80 tape drive fails to initialize because of the
hardware configuration.
RESOLUTION
Make sure the QIC tape drive is attached to your computer's native
floppy disk drive controller, not a proprietary floppy controller. If
this does not solve the problem, contact your vendor for more
information.
