SYMPTOMS
If you paste a 256-color image, such as a scanned image, into Windows
NT Paintbrush from the Clipboard, Paintbrush may not save the image
correctly to disk.
The image appears correctly in Paintbrush, but when you save the image
and reopen it, it may appear as if it were translated into a 16-color
image or it may appear solid black.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.1
and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this
problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge
Base as it becomes available.
