PRA: Slow Repaint When Saving Form with Many ControlsArticle ID: Q103191Creation Date: 18-AUG-1993 Revision Date: 19-SEP-1996
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMS
The first time you save a form that contains both a large number of
controls and a counter field, Microsoft Access repaints the controls one at
a time. This process may take 2 to 10 seconds, depending on the speed of
your processor.
CAUSE
Because the form contains a counter field, it must be repainted when the
counter value is determined (the first time the record is saved). All
fields on the form are repainted, not only the counter.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access version
1.0. This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Access version 1.1.
