PUB2: Hangs in 1024 x 768 256-Color Mode with Bitmap

SYMPTOMS
========

With some video cards, you may find that your computer stops
responding (hangs) or you receive a general protection (GP) fault when
you run Publisher at 1024 x 768 resolution in 256-color mode and use
bitmaps.

The problem may occur when you import a bitmap, change the view to 200
%, and then wait for a few moments.

Very few instances of this problem have been reported.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Publisher version 2.0.
We are researching this problem and will post new information here in
the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
