When you print from Microsoft Excel for Windows, some cell-shading patterns may not print to a Compaq Pagemarq 15 or 20 printer using the Compaq driver COMPAQPS.DRV version 1.70.

Microsoft has confirmed that the second, third, fourth, and fifth patterns in the Patterns drop-down list of Excel's Format Patterns menu do not print using the COMPAQPS.DRV version 1.70 if the driver's Options Advanced Resolution setting is 800 dots per inch (DPI). The patterns do print correctly at 400 DPI or 300 DPI with this driver.

COMPAQPS.DRV is a modified version of the PSCRIPT.DRV PostScript driver that ships with Windows. This driver is distributed and supported by Compaq. Microsoft makes no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this driver's performance or reliability.
