Microsoft Backup Cannot Back Up SyQuest Removable Disk

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Backup (MSBACKUP.EXE) cannot back up a removable disk from some SyQuest removable drives, such as the ST01 HBA.

CAUSE

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Backup versions 6.0 and 6.2. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
