SUMMARY
Microsoft MS-DOS Uninstall does not check the partition table before
uninstalling. Since Uninstall rewrites the partition table (using
BPB0.DAT), you may experience data loss if you have changed your
partitioning.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in MS-DOS versions 5.0, 5.0a,
6.0, 6.2, 6.21, and 6.22. We are researching this problem and will post new
information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
