Windows Resources Lost After Exiting Word for Windows |

When you exit Word for Windows, you may have fewer Windows resources
available than before you started Word. (To see the percentage of
available Windows resources, switch to Windows Program Manager and
choose the About Program Manager command from the Help menu.)
After you lose sufficient resources, memory errors may occur in Word
or other Windows-based applications. Some applications, including
Word, may not even start.
Windows loses available resources after you do the following several
times:
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in versions 1.x and 2.x of Word for Windows. This problem was corrected in version 6.0 of Word for Windows.
Once you have lost Windows resources, you must exit and restart
Windows to restore the resources.
To avoid losing resources, make sure there is at least one document
window open when you exit Word.
