SUMMARY

When using the Data Access Language (DAL) version 1.3.5 to connect to a remote database server addition preference files called DAL Network Adapters must be loaded into the Extensions folder.

DAL Network Adapters provide specific configuration information for different types of networks. This configuration information is required by DAL 1.3.5 in order to make a valid connection to the remote database server.

Some examples of DAL Network Adapters are the following:

The Data Access Language software version 1.3.5 or later can be purchased from Apple Computer or an authorized Apple dealer. To function correctly, any application that uses the DAL extension requires a DAL Network Adapter to be installed.
