SYMPTOMS

Running the Spelling Check application (SPELLCHK.APP) closes the FOXTOOLS.FLL library.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.5 for Windows. This problem was corrected in FoxPro 2.5a for Windows.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

1. Assuming FoxPro is installed in the FOXPROW directory on drive C,

   issue the following code in the Command window:

      SET LIBRARY TO c:\foxprow\foxtools.fll
      ?'CURRENT LIBRARY: ' + SET('LIBRARY')

   The following text is displayed on the FoxPro desktop:

      CURRENT LIBRARY: : C:\FOXPROW\FOXTOOLS.FLL

2. Issue the following in the Command window:

      MODIFY COMMAND c:\foxprow\readme.txt

   When the README.TXT window appears, press CTRL+F2 to return to the
   Command window.

3. Issue the following command in the Command window:

      DO c:\foxprow\spellchk.app

4. In the Spelling dialog box, choose the Cancel button.

5. Issue the following in the Command window:

      ?'CURRENT LIBRARY: ' + SET('LIBRARY')

The following is displayed in the FoxPro desktop, indicating that no library is set:

   CURRENT LIBRARY:
