Some Paragraphs Not Changed When You Choose AutoFormat Command |
Q106685
AutoFormat does not apply styles to all paragraphs of the document.
The AutoFormat option Preserve Previously Applied Styles (which is on
by default) prevents AutoFormat from modifying paragraphs formatted
with styles other than Normal and Body Text. (To locate this option,
choose AutoFormat from the Format menu, choose the Options button, and
choose the AutoFormat tab--or, choose Options from the Tools menu, and
choose the AutoFormat tab.)
The Normal and Body Text styles are built-in Word styles. Style names
are case sensitive, so paragraphs formatted with user-created styles
named "normal" or "body text" (all lowercase) are not modified by
AutoFormat when Preserve Previously Applied Styles is selected.
