SYMPTOMS

Page faults occurred in WINSOCK.DLL @ 0001:8AB9 if VXConnect software was used to connect to Data General with MediTech emulation.

CAUSE

Memory in WINSOCK.DLL was being swapped after it was allocated for the protected mode buffer that contains the data transferred to and from the system.

RESOLUTION

Code was changed so that buffers now are allocated as movable and memory is then immediately locked so it cannot be swapped.

STATUS

This fix is in the LAN Manager 2.2 patch.
