The information in this article applies to:
SUMMARYIn Microsoft Excel version 5.0, when you open a file with the Find File feature, it is opened as if you held down the SHIFT key and chose Open from the File menu. The following conditions apply to files that you open this way:
WORKAROUNDS
To Open a Microsoft Excel 4.0 Add-in FileTo open a Microsoft Excel 4.0 add-in file in Microsoft Excel 5.0 and have it behave the same way it does in Microsoft Excel version 4.0 (that is, the add-in does not appear in a window or the Unhide dialog box), choose Open from the File menu and select the file.
To Run an Auto_Open Macro or SubroutineIf you want to run Auto_Open macros or subroutines when you open files, do either of the following: - Open the file by choosing Open from the File menu and then select the file. -or-- After you open the file in Find File, choose Macro from the Tools menu. Select the appropriate macro from the list of macros and choose Run. |
