SUMMARY

WordPerfect has updated the WordPerfect Presentations (WPG) graphic file format to version 2.0. Graphic files provided with or saved from the graphic editors in WordPerfect 6.0 for MS-DOS, WordPerfect 6.0 for Windows, and WordPerfect Presentations 2.0 for Windows are saved in WPG 2.0 format.

WPG 2.0 format is not currently supported by the WPG graphic import filter supplied with Word version 2.0 for Windows. Word does fully support import of WPG version 1.0 graphics supplied with or saved from WordPerfect 5.2 for Windows, WordPerfect 5.1 for MS-DOS, and earlier versions of WordPerfect products.

WPG 2.0 format is support by Word version 6.0 for Windows. To import WPG 2.0 graphics into Word 6.0, you must obtain the WordPerfect Supplemental Conversion Kit . For additional information, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

WPG images created in WordPerfect Presentations 2.0 for Windows can be inserted in Word, but some features such as Bezier Curves, Gradient Fills, fonts, and embedded sound will not be retained.

WPG files supplied with or saved from WordPerfect for MS-DOS 6.0 cannot be inserted in Word. If you attempt to insert such an image, Word will return an error message similar to the following.

This graphics file may be damaged and cannot be converted.

All WPG files supplied with WordPerfect 6.0 for Windows can be inserted in Word, but features new or changed in the WPG format (for example, gradient fills) are not retained.

Note: These limitations are the same limitations WordPerfect 5.2 for Windows and WordPerfect 5.1 for MS-DOS experience when importing the same images.
