SYMPTOMS
You may experience problems with File Manager and NFS between a system
running Windows NT and a UNIX box or a computer running PC-NFS.
CAUSE
UNIX and PC-NFS are case-sensitive. The path changes to uppercase in the
Windows NT Path box after deleting the drive letter, by design. However,
the uppercase letters are not the same to the UNIX system.
RESOLUTION
To avoid having this problem, do not use the Path list box in the Connect
Network Drive dialog box; instead, retype the path in the Path box with
proper case (uppercase/lowercase).
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows NT and
Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this problem and
will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
