Word 6.0 Setup Does Not Install New UNIDRV.DLL File |
Q108502
When you install Word for Windows, Setup does not automatically install the updated UNIDRV.DLL file, which is supplied with Word.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for Windows version 6.0. This problem was corrected in Word version 6.0a.
You must install the UNIDRV.DLL file manually, using the following
procedure:
c:\winword\decomp a:\unidrv.dl_ c:\windows\system\unidrv.dllNote: The above syntax assumes that C:\WINWORD is your Word program directory, drive A is the floppy disk drive where you placed the Word disk in step 3 above, and that C:\WINDOWS is your Windows program directory.
Word 6.0 supplied updated UNIDRV.DLL and PSCRIPT.DRV files to correct problems associated with printing documents with large numbers of fonts. If you use the previous versions of these files, you may experience random low memory error messages or GP (general protection) fault errors when you print, view, or edit your document. The latest version of the UNIDRV.DLL is 3.1.4.
