XL5: Headings May Have Different Color Than Gridlines |
The information in this article applies to:
-
Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 5.0
-
Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 7.0
In Microsoft Excel, the color of row and column headings is set by changing
the Button Text color setting in the Microsoft Windows Color control panel.
The color of gridlines is set by changing the Gridlines Color setting on
the View tab of the Options dialog box (from the Tools menu, choose
Options).
This differs from versions of Microsoft Excel, earlier than version 5.0, in
which the color of both row and column headings and gridlines is set by
changing the Gridline & Heading Color setting in the Display Options dialog
box (from the Options menu, choose Display).
This change means that the colors of headings and gridlines may be
different in Microsoft Excel version 5.0 or 7.0. In order to have
identically-colored headings and gridlines, you will need to set the Button
Text color setting in the Color control panel to be the same as the
Gridlines Color setting in the Options dialog box in both Microsoft Excel
version 5.0 and 7.0.
