PUB2: Extended Characters from DOS Works Import Incorrectly

SYMPTOMS
========

If you import documents created in Microsoft Works version 2.0 for MS-DOS
into Microsoft Publisher version 2.0, the extended characters will not
import correctly.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, save the file from Microsoft Works for MS-DOS as a
plain text document, then import the file into Publisher using the Plain
Text (DOS) text filter.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Publisher version 2.0. We
are researching this problem and will post new information here in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
