PRA: "Can't Delete Account" After Losing Net Connection

    The information in this article applies to:

    • Microsoft Access versions 1.0 and 1.1

    SYMPTOMS

    You receive the error message "Can't delete account" when you attempt to open or save database objects in a remote database after you lose your network connection.

    CAUSE

    Microsoft Access cannot tell when a remote database is unavailable due to a dropped or disconnected network connection. As a result, you receive the misleading error message stated above.

    STATUS

    Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access versions 1.0 and 1.1. This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Access version 2.0.
