PRB: Unbound Controls in Form Datasheet Do Not Print Preview

SYMPTOMS

Data in unbound controls on forms in Datasheet view will not be displayed when the datasheet is previewed. Only the control's name will be displayed.

RESOLUTION

View the form in Form view before previewing it. Data in unbound controls will be displayed if the form is previewed in Form view.

Bind the unbound controls to fields on a table that store the controls' data. Once the controls are bound you will be able to preview the form in Datasheet view and still see the data in the controls.

STATUS

This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Access version 2.0.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

Open the sample database NWIND.MDB.
Create a blank, unbound form.
Place an unbound text box on the form.
View the form in Datasheet view.
Type any text in the control.
From the File menu, choose Print Preview to preview the form.
