PRA: Print Quality Always Defaults to Highest Mode

    The information in this article applies to:

    • Microsoft Access versions 1.0 and 1.1

    SYMPTOMS

    Microsoft Access ignores the print quality set in the Windows Control Panel and instead defaults to the highest quality print mode available.

    STATUS

    Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access versions 1.0 and 1.1. This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Access version 2.0.

    Steps to Reproduce Problem

    1. Run the Printers utility in the Windows Control Panel.
    2. Select a printer, then choose Setup.
    3. Choose a printing resolution in the Resolution box that is less than the highest available resolution.
    4. Start Microsoft Access and open any database.
    5. From the File menu, choose Print. Note that the print quality is set to High.
