Access Violation in Backup

SYMPTOMS

While Backup searches for the end of the tape, before it starts recording information, an access violation error message appears.

CAUSE

This message is caused by using a tape created with an older version of Windows NT Backup.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1.
