The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0
  • Word Assistant version 1.0

SYMPTOMS

If you press the BACKSPACE key to delete a Special Paper design, subsequent inserted designs cannot be selected or deleted until you first delete the anchor associated with the first design.

RESOLUTION

If you have used the BACKSPACE key to delete a Special Paper design, you must select the anchor of the first design and delete it before you insert the second design. To delete the anchor, select it with the mouse and then press the DEL key,

To avoid this problem, always use the DEL key to remove Special Paper designs.

MORE INFORMATION

Special Paper designs are inserted in a text box in the drawing layer of Word 6.0 for Windows. If you insert a Special Paper design, and the design is later deleted by pressing the BACKSPACE key, a paragraph mark is retained in the text box along with its associated anchor. When you insert a second Special Paper design in the document, the paragraph mark and anchor remain. Because of the previous text box, the second Special Paper design cannot be selected or deleted.
