    SUMMARY

When you print to an Apple ImageWriter or ImageWriter II printer, you must use different alignments for manual feed and tractor feed. If the paper is misaligned, the top margin may be approximately one inch larger than expected on the printout.

    MORE INFORMATION

    Manual-Feed Printing

To correctly align the paper in the printer for manual-feed printing, follow these instructions:

    1. Set the paper release lever to the down position. (This lever is located towards the rear of the platen [the rolling knob that advances the paper through the printer] on the right hand side).
    2. Place a sheet of paper between the back cover and the platen.
    3. Align the left side of the paper with the line on the single-sheet icon located on the left side of the back cover.
    4. Make sure that the paper is aligned straight and is in just far enough for the platen to grip the paper.
    5. Make sure that the Select light is off (to turn it off, press the Select button), and then press the Form Feed button.

The printer automatically feeds the paper in and aligns it correctly for printing. Correct alignment is when the paper is aligned with the print line (a red line located on the plastic paper guide).

    Tractor-Feed Printing

When you align tractor-fed paper, printing begins approximately one inch from the top of the paper.
