Duplicate Menu Commands and Standard Toolbar Buttons |
Q111853
If the Standard toolbar in your NORMAL.DOT (global) template contains
custom buttons, these buttons appear twice on the Standard toolbar after
you apply Special Paper formatting using the Word Assistant Special Paper
command on the Insert menu.
Similarly, if you customize the menus in your Normal template, any command
you added appears twice on the menu after you apply Special Paper
formatting.
When you choose the Special Paper command from the Insert menu, Word
Assistant attaches the Special Paper template (SPECPPR.DOT) to your Word
document. This template reproduces the menus and Standard toolbar from your
Normal template, but doing so duplicates any custom menu commands and
toolbar buttons.
Word Assistant duplicates custom menu commands and toolbar buttons only if
your document is attached to the Normal template. If your document is
attached to any other template, this does not happen.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word Assistant version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
