XL5: Unattached Text in Wrong Place on Zoomed Embedded Chart |
In Microsoft Excel version 5.0, if you open a Microsoft Excel version 4.0 worksheet that contains an embedded chart, and the worksheet is at a zoom magnification option other than 100 percent, unattached text on the chart appears in the wrong location when you view the worksheet at 100 percent.
When you open the workbook in Microsoft Excel version 5.0, the unattached text (text box) is positioned on the chart before the new size of the text box is taken into account. This causes the text box to be moved to the wrong location on the chart.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel for Windows version 5.0c.
In Microsoft Excel version 4.0, when you add unattached text to an
embedded chart, the unattached text appears in a different location
on the chart when you select a zoom magnification option other than
100 percent. However, when you choose a zoom magnification option of
100 percent, the unattached text appears in the original location on
the chart.
If you save a worksheet with an embedded chart that contains
unattached text while the worksheet is at a zoom magnification other
than 100 percent, and then open the worksheet in Microsoft Excel
version 5.0, when you view the worksheet at 100 percent, the
unattached text on the chart is offset from its original location.
