First Cell Deleted Dragging Word Table and Dropping in Excel |
Q112381
When you drag a Word for Windows table and drop it in Microsoft Excel
version 5.0 for Windows, the first cell in the Word table is deleted in
Word. In other words, the first cell in the table is moved to Excel, while
the remaining table cells are copied.
Note: If you select less than an entire row in the Word table and drag it
into Excel, the entire row is copied. The smallest table unit you can move
using drag-and-drop is a row. If you select a single column in a multi-
column table, the entire table is copied.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word versions 6.0 and 6.0a for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
