Works: Report with Multiple Page Breaks Previews Incorrectly
Article ID: 112398
Article Last Modified on 1/14/2000
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Works 3.0 Standard Edition
This article was previously published under Q112398
SYMPTOMS
A database report in Works for Windows previews incorrectly if the
following two conditions are met:
- The report contains an odd number of pages, greater than two.
-and-
- The report contains at least one manual page break.
The report displays correctly when you first choose Print Preview and
choose the Next button to page through the document; however, moving back
through the report using the Previous button displays incorrect results. As
you return to pages that were previously previewed, records will seem to
have disappeared.
RESOLUTION
The report prints correctly and again previews properly if you cancel Print
Preview, then choose Print Preview again (from the File menu). Deleting
either one of the page breaks in the report definition or adding another
page break to produce an even number of pages also allows the report to
preview correctly when you move back through the report using the Previous
button.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works version 3.0 for
Windows. This problem no longer occurs in Works versions 4.0 and later.
