PRB: Banyan Vines and Internal MS Delta Error 1031-00922

SYMPTOMS

While creating or joining a project located on a Banyan Vines server, the following error message appears:

   Internal Microsoft Delta Error 1031-00922

CAUSE

Microsoft Delta does not directly support Banyan Vines. Delta runs only on networks that support UNC-type paths (that is, paths in the form of \\SERVER\SHARE). Because Banyan Vines uses a different format for network resources, Delta issues the "Internal Microsoft Delta error 1031-00922" error message.

RESOLUTION

On some versions of Banyan Vines, adding a LOCALDRIVES variable to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file of the machine running Delta has been a successful workaround. Add the following line to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file:

   SET LOCALDRIVES=T  (where T is the Banyan Vine network drive letter)
