Incorrect Error Message in Works for MS-DOS Converter

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Works for MS-DOS converter to open a non-Works for MS-DOS file in Word 6.0 for Windows, the Works for MS-DOS converter displays the following incorrect error message:

Works for Windows Conversion
File is not a Works for Windows document
Instead, the message should read:
Works for MS-DOS Conversion
File is not a Works for MS-DOS document


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Works for MS-DOS converter supplied with Word versions 6.0 and 6.0a for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
