Text Changes to Geneva When Printed on StyleWriter IIArticle ID: Q112561Creation Date: 13-MAR-1994 Revision Date: 14-OCT-1994

SYMPTOMS
The text in a document printed to a StyleWriter II prints unexpectedly
jagged or in the Geneva font.
CAUSE
There are two possible reasons for the problem:
Low-Memory Situation
The Macintosh does not have enough RAM to print the document as expected.
This problem is caused by a limitation of the StyleWriter II and is
particularly likely to occur on Macintosh computers with less than 4
megabytes (4096 kilobytes) of RAM.
Shared Printer Situation
The font that is printing incorrectly is not installed on the host
computer (that is, the Macintosh directly connected to the printer).
RESOLUTION
If the problem is caused by a low-memory situation, correct the problem by
installing more memory. Although the StyleWriter II specification sheet
states that the printer works on Macintosh computers having as little as 1
megabyte of memory, the specification sheet recommends using the printer
with computers having 4 or more megabytes.
If the problem occurs in a shared printer situation, install the missing
fonts on the host Macintosh.
MORE INFORMATION
To quickly compare the fonts installed on the remote Macintosh (the
Macintosh you are using) to the fonts installed on the host Macintosh,
follow these steps:
