PRB: Inconsistent Line Spacing in Summary Reports

SYMPTOMS

When you print or preview a summary report (a report with nothing in the detail section) the line spacing on the report is not consistent.

CAUSE

The height of the detail section isn't exactly 0 inches or centimeters.

RESOLUTION

Use the property sheet to verify that the height of the detail section is

If it is not, change the Height property to 0. If the height still does

not become 0, delete any controls in the detail section and then set the Height property to 0 again.

MORE INFORMATION

You can view the property sheet by choosing Properties from the View menu when your report is open in Design view. The property sheet's title bar will indicate which control or section is currently selected.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

Open the sample database NWIND.MDB.
Make a copy of the Employee Sales By Country report.
Open the copy report in Design view.
Delete all the controls from the report's detail and Salesperson header sections.
Set the height of the detail and Salesperson header sections to 0.01.
Preview the report. When you are prompted to enter beginning and ending dates for the report, enter "1/1/89" (without quotation marks) and "1/1/90" (without quotation marks).

Note that the line spacing on the report is not consistent. If you set the height of the detail and Salesperson header sections to 0, the line spacing will be consistent.
