PRB: Internal Microsoft Delta Error 1020-00280

SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Delta reports "Internal Microsoft Delta error 1020-00280" upon checking in a file.

CAUSE

If you have a file (HELLO.C) in *del(out) state (which occurs when another user deletes a file from the project that you have checked out) and try to check in the file, you will get the following error:

   hello.c is checked out and should be deleted; delete now ?

If you answer "Yes", you will get:

   Internal Microsoft Delta error 1020-00280

RESOLUTION

The workaround is to synchronize your project, after which you will get:

   hello.c is checked out and should be deleted; delete now ?

Answering "Yes" will properly change the status to deleted.
