SYMPTOMS

When you try to print a Help topic from Word for Windows to a Hewlett- Packard (HP) LaserJet 4 printer, the following general protection (GP) fault will occur:

Winhelp caused a General Protection fault in module HPPCL5e.DRV at <address>


CAUSE

This problem occurs when you use an HPPCL5e.DRV printer driver version earlier than 31.v1.26.


RESOLUTION

Use the HPPCL5e.DRV printer driver version 31.v1.26 or later. The updated printer driver is available from HP by calling (303) 339-7009. The driver is also available on CompuServe in the Peripheral Forum. You can access this area by typing go hpper at the CompuServe ! prompt.
