SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, when you assign a resource part-time to multiple tasks, the resource may be overallocated even if the Peak Units value for the resource is equal to the Max Units value.

This problem occurs only when you assign a resource part-time, so that the Units value for the resource is a decimal value. This is not a problem when you assign a resource as a whole number unit.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
