SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, you cannot edit the menus associated with the Module Editor. This is by design in Project.

MORE INFORMATION

In Microsoft Project 4.0, you can customize the default menu bars, create your own menu bars, and add new menus to menu bars using the Menu Bar Definition dialog box. However, you cannot edit the menu bar that is displayed when you apply the Module Editor view.

This menu bar contains a Run menu with commands such as Start, End, and Step Into that you can use while you edit a macro in the Module Editor. The Edit, View, Insert, and Tools menus also are modified in this view to contain specific commands for renaming modules, debugging your macro, and inserting code.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. In a new project, choose More Views from the View menu. From the Views list, select Module Editor, and then choose Apply.

Note that the Run menu is added between the Insert menu and the Tools menu.

  2. From the Tools menu, choose Customize, and then choose Menu Bars. From the Menu Bars list, select Standard. Choose the Edit button.

Note that you cannot see the Run menu item in the list of menus in the Menu Bar Definition dialog box.
