Subscribed Graphic Resizes When PowerPoint Slide Updates

Last reviewed: September 9, 1996
Article ID: Q113370
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Word for Macintosh, versions 5.0 and 5.1
  • Microsoft PowerPoint for Macintosh, version 3.0
  • Apple Macintosh System versions 7.0, 7.0.1, and 7.1

SYMPTOMS

If you change the size of a subscription in Word that corresponds to a PowerPoint publisher, those changes are lost if the PowerPoint publisher is updated. The subscription in Word reverts to its original size.

In Word, subscribing to a PowerPoint slide results in a large object that behaves much the same as a graphic. The subscription may need to be resized to fit within the margins. However, if the corresponding publisher (or any published slide belonging to the same PowerPoint presentation) is updated, the subscription in Word reverts to its original size.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Word versions 5.0 and 5.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
