BUG: SQL Transfer Manager Does Not Transfer Aliases

SYMPTOMS

SQL Transfer Manager does not transfer aliases within a database when doing a transfer. However, database users are transferred.


WORKAROUND

After the database has been transferred, recreate the aliases for the database manually using SP_ADDALIAS.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Transfer Manager version 4.2. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
