Linked Documents Don't Update Properly

SYMPTOMS

When you have linked documents between several 16-bit and 32-bit Windows- based applications in Windows NT, some documents may not update properly. For example, a picture from Paintbrush that is shared in the Windows NT Clipbook may not automatically update on a connected Windows NT or Windows for Workgroups client using Write.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the server doesn't respond to the initiate attempts by the client.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
