SYMPTOMS

When you print envelopes using Word 6.0 for Windows with the IBM Execjet 4072, Word will propose the wrong envelope feed method.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word 6.0 and 6.0a for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

Change the envelope feed method by following these steps:

1. From the Tools menu, choose Envelopes And Labels.



2. Select the Envelopes tab.



3. Choose the Options button.



4. Choose the Printing Options tab.



5. Change the feed method to match the way the printer is actually feeding the envelopes (portrait left feed).



6. Close the dialog boxes. This will be the new feed method from now on.
