SYMPTOMS

In Word 2.x for Windows, after you run the BatchConversion macro, the following converters are the only converter options listed in the Convert From dialog box, even though other converters have been installed:

Text Only
Text + Breaks
Text Only (PC-8)
Text + Breaks (PC-8)
RTF

CAUSE

The BatchConversion macro performs a case-sensitive search of your WIN.INI file for the following Word 2.x text converter header:


   [MSWord Text Converters]

If it finds [msword text converters], it will list only Word's internal converters (Text and RTF converters) but not any of the installed converters.

RESOLUTION

Change the case of the Word 2.0 text converter header from [msword text converters] to [MSWord Text Converters] in the WIN.INI file.

STATUS

This problem occurs only with the Word 2.0 BatchConversion macro; the Word 6.0 and 6.0a BatchConversion macro does not perform a case-sensitive search, and therefore does not generate the problem.
