SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, when you increase the size of the font used for a text item, such as Overallocated Resources in the Resource Usage view, the height of every row in the table increases, instead of just the height of the row that contains the item displayed in the large font size.

CAUSE

In the Resource Usage view, when the height of one row changes, the height of every row changes. You cannot have rows with different heights in this view. Note that you can have different row heights in the other views.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior in Microsoft Project 4.0

  1. In a new project, choose Resource Usage from the View menu.

  2. From the Format menu, choose Text Styles. From the Item To Change list, select Overallocated Resources. From the Size list, select 24, and choose OK.

The height of every row in the table increases to allow a 24 point font to fit, even though there are currently no overallocated resources displayed in the table.
