How to Remove a Border from a Text Box

The information in this article applies to:

SUMMARY

When you insert a text box drawing object in a Word document, the text box automatically displays a black border.

To remove the border, do the following:

  1. Select the text box.


  2. Choose the Line Style button on the Drawing toolbar.


  3. From the list box, select More.


  4. Select the Line tab.


  5. Under Line, select None.


  6. Choose OK.



MORE INFORMATION

This procedure resets the line style for the next object you make. For example, if you insert a Rectangle or Ellipse as the next object, the new object will also have no border.

Note: Setting the line style to None in the Paragraph Borders dialog box has no effect on the border of a text box. (To locate this option, choose Borders And Shading from the Format menu, select the Border tab, and under Line, select None.)
